I did not realize the volume of what went into the outline of a tech plan and then the start up of that plan. I also find it odd that schools had to have a plan and now that we are in a push for technology in the classroom, a plan is no longer required.
Our school does not have a tech team and as of right now, we have an outdated plan. I have contacted our principle and will begin to assist her in putting a plan together as soon as he gets back from vacation. It would seem that a solid plan is essential.
I completely agree with your comments regarding the need for every school to have a technology team. My school has a tech team, but to be honest, I couldn't begin to tell you what they do or even who's on the team. So, I'm not sure we're doing any better. Good thoughts!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I am on the tech committee at EP and we have continued working our plan even though it is no longer a requirement of the state. We are heading in the direction of technology and after taking these classes I would encourage you to start a tech team and possibly make a plan for your school. By the end of this class you will have a good idea of how to create a tech plan and you have experience with integrating tech into your teaching. I am sure, like Dr. Closen said, that there will be a required plan from the state if they are going to give out the money!
